Joren had a strong interest in practical work when he began his engineering studies. He chose electromechanics in high school because he liked to interact with the physical components of technology. Later, he switched to industrial engineering, attracted by the wide range of opportunities it provided.
Joren started his career at an engineering consultancy firm. He worked on projects at imec, where he created detailed AutoCAD designs for chemical piping and EPLAN designs. These experiences showed his attention to detail and his skill to handle complex engineering problems. It was then that Wouter contacted him, sharing a vision to start an E&I team.
They soon found out that they had a common entrepreneurial spirit. Joren was attracted by the chance to be part of a startup where he could have an impact right away. He enjoyed having the autonomy to try new things and valued Wouter’s sincere openness to suggestions instead of assigning fixed roles.
In his spare time, Joren is a football enthusiast and a loyal supporter of Club Brugge.
