Bert thrives in high-pressure situations and is always ready to go that extra mile to meet deadlines. He has a thirst for knowledge, and he's a true polymath who loves diving into innovative technologies and platforms.
Bert was drawn to the field of automation by a curiosity about how factories work. His education followed a path from high school with an interest in shows like "How It's Made" to a professional bachelor's degree and, finally, a master's in industrial engineering with a specialisation in automation.
Bert developed his abilities as a PLC and DCS engineer early on, working on complex projects that required accuracy and skill. This brought him to Yokogawa, where he met Jurgen and Mathias, laying the groundwork for future partnerships. Bert also participated in various projects at imec, where he had the chance to connect with Adrien.
But Bert was not satisfied with just engineering. He wanted to learn new skills and do different things. He was drawn to Coretecs and its vision. He became part of us from the beginning, and he found the diversity he wanted. His role grew to include PLCNext, Yokogawa, Ignition SCADA, and project management. He now excels in leading teams, procuring materials, and making sure projects go smoothly.
In his free time, Bert enjoys exploring his creative side with a 3D printer and cherishes moments spent with his son.
