Kaïn is our resident problem-solver, ready to explore the world of automation. Straight out of school, he's already making a name for himself by tackling complex challenges and always looking for the smartest solution.
From the get-go, Kaïn was drawn to the technical side of things, deciding to study electromechanics with a specialisation in climate control. While that's a bit different from what we do at Coretecs, that background in HVAC systems actually gives him a cool edge.
During his studies, Kaïn landed an internship at one of our favourite clients: imec. They handed him a real head-scratcher: find ways to improve the climate control in their iconic tower. Talk about throwing someone in the deep end! Kaïn’s figured out where it went wrong, mapped out a new system, and created a functional description to bridge the gap between the HVAC side and the automation needed to control it. Pretty impressive stuff for a stage, right?
Coming straight from the school benches, Coretecs is Kaïn’s first real job, and he’s loving it. What drew him to us? Well, after his imec experience, he knew he thrived on projects where he could really use his brain, work with like-minded people, and find his own way to get things done. Corporate consulting jobs were not his vibe: he wanted to be part of a team, not just a number. We're proud to say that Coretecs felt different from the start!
As our newest automation engineer, Kaïn is soaking up knowledge from our senior experts like a sponge, especially from Pieter. He wants to understand all the pieces of the puzzle – different brands, different norms, different approaches. And who knows, maybe that HVAC knowledge will come in handy on a future project!
Outside of work, Kaïn is just as active and versatile. For fourteen years, he was seriously into badminton. He even organises sports camps for kids every year, showing his entrepreneurial side and passion for teaching. And if you’re looking for a good meal? Kaïn’s your guy. He’s worked in restaurant kitchens and even ran his own café as a student. To balance things out, he also enjoys running and cycling, keeping both his mind and body sharp.
