Simon began his career with a professional bachelor's degree in energy technology. This allowed him to work in various settings, from the bustling Port of Antwerp-Bruges and its large chemical industries to imec and its nanoelectronics research centre. There he encountered some familiar faces: Adrien and Jurgen.
He quickly realised that some parts of creating electrical plans can be repeated, and he began to look into how to make these tasks smarter by using scripts and automation, making sure that nothing is overlooked.
Simon acts as a link between IT, OT, and E&I hardware, and enjoys working with different fields while learning as he goes. He doesn't just concentrate on the code; he explores the underlying reasons that motivate both sides of the equation.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Simon has a passion for analogue photography. He enjoys the thrill of buying second-hand cameras and restoring them to their former glory. As soon as he purchases something, he immediately takes it apart to understand how it works.
